By selective adsorption, righteous alkanes are separated from branched chain hydrocarbons or cyclic hydrocarbons. It's currently being used to industrially separate large amounts of normal isomericalkane. 5A molecular sieve may also be used to produce pressure swing-adsorption hydrogen.
