Tungsten-copper rod is an alloy of tungsten, copper, and other elements. Copper content in commonly-used alloys ranges from 10% to 50%. Powder metallurgy is used to prepare the alloy. The alloy has good thermal and electrical conductivity, high temperatures resistance and certain plasticity. Copper in an alloy reacts with heat to liquefy and evaporate at extremely high temperatures like above 3000 degC. This material is sometimes called metal sweating.
A composite material made from tungsten and copper, Tungsten Copper is produced by high temperature sintering and static pressing. This process makes good use of both the metal properties and plasticity of high purity tungsten and high-purity copper. Excellent arc breaking ability, low thermal expansion, thermal conductivity and electrical performance.

Tungsten and copper alloy have many uses. They are used to make contacts of high voltage electrical switches. These switches can resist arc ablation. Rocket nozzle throat liners. Occasions where high-temperature and/or thermal conductivity are required.

Resistance welding electrodes
The resistance welding electrode (select-tungsten copper WD10080): This electrode combines the best of tungsten with copper. It is high in temperature resistance, resistance to arc ablation, strength, large specific gravity, electrical conductivity and easy cutting. Because of its hardness, high melting points, anti-adhesion properties, and excellent wear resistance, tungsten is frequently used in projection welding.

Spark electrode
You can choose from either tungsten or tungsten-copper electrodes WD10070, 10075 or WD10075. EDM electrodes should be used when the mold of high temperature superhard alloy tungsten steel needs to be eroded. The speed and loss of regular electrodes are slow and large. The workpiece's accuracy can be greatly enhanced by a low corrosion rate, a precise electrode shape and outstanding processing performance.

High Voltage Discharge Tube Electrodes
Select WD10070 high-voltage discharge electrode: The temperature of the contact materials will rise by several thousand degrees Celsius when the high-voltage vacuum discharge tube is in operation. This happens within just a few seconds. The discharge tube can operate safely because of its thermal conductivity.
